Mass Communication in the Interdiscipinary Paradigm: State Security, Social Communication, Psycolinguistics

Abstract

Color revolutions of the 21st century, the events of 2013-2016 in Ukraine stimulated rethinking the theory of mass communications, that primarily envisages the definition of psycholinguistic factors of their implementation and impact on mass consciousness. The following questions acquire the relevance: how the crowd, gathered audience and uncollected audience are capable to mutual transformation? How these kinds of masses can affect on the condition of the state security? Which communication effects are directed to each of these types of mass? How to prevent these impacts? How massive will be global communications? How can experts of law enforcement agencies manage social mass communications for national security?

The article offers a multidisciplinary approach to the phenomenon of mass communications, and the following tasks are solved: the approaches of social communications to the theory of the masses and mass communications are analyzed; the key issues of mass communication in the system of ensuring state security are identified; the psycholinguistic technologies of preventing destructive mass communications are offered.
