Abstract

The paper presents the research of the fragmentation specifics in news online communication process, its impact on readers’ speech and thinking style. The following methods were used: analysis and synthesis; generalization; descriptive method, linguacultural and conceptual analysis, modeling, method of semantic and pragmatic interpretations, contextual observation and comparative analysis. There is the definition of fragmentation and examples from the most popular news sites on Ukrnet (Korrespondent.net) and Runet (RosBusinessConsulting). Fragmentation is defined as spreading of fragmentary texts. Completely different information is mechanically combined in a particular announcement; it is united by only implicit author’s concept provoking associations, markers and connotations. Also, the article analyzes how this feature complicates understanding news texts, what psychological and neurolinguistic difficulties it causes, what psycholinguistic mechanisms are involved in the understanding process of these news announcements. The understanding process of fragmentation is modeled on the example of three news announcements that are analyzed in the article. Fragmentation violates traditional communicative code and sets manipulations of reader’s consciousness, structuring and substitution of values. The user unknowingly pays attention to such texts, spontaneously remembers them and then he uses them as a cliché or a model in his speech. In its turn, change of verbal behavior changes thinking and understanding of reality. The research is carried out in the context of the theory of deviant speech units, the achievements of modern linguistics, including Internet linguistics, cognitive science, psychology and neuroscience.
