Abstract

The article analyzes the possibilities of linguistic representation of the structure of the scenario concept EVENT in the Russian-language media discourse. The concept EVENT is objectified by the word-nominator “event”, which also receives the status of the term of this concept. The studies of Russian-speaking media discourse has determined that such components as subject, object, spatial localization and result are the most important and frequent for the perception and commenting of the event. These components are the basic building blocks of the concept scenario EVENT. The object and the subject are often represented by the linguistic units, denoting one person, group of people, organizations, countries, cities, objects. The event it self can act as a subject. The result of the event is very often associated with the event itself, and can be complicated by the evaluative elements of positive or negative meaning.
